Default Anyone Tried the Outhouse Blind?

I just got one as a gift. Anybody kill anything out of one? I can't see a deer not noticing it.

Never seen one but as far as them seeing it that isn't a problem as long as they are use to seeing it. If it is in their environment everyday they'll think nothing of it. Just like the deer that wander by my house everyday. Even the A/C compressor turning on and off or the heater turning on and off doesn't even illicit a response. They barely notice. In farm country the usual farm equipment running around doesn't bug them as long as their accustomed to seeing it everyday. Same with them hearing ATVs. As long as they hear them all the time it doesn't concern them. You stick that blind out there a few days before opening day and you bet they'll notice it. Put it out a few months before and they'll consider it a normal part of the environment. They notice when things are out of place. I watched the normal deer who frequent my yard be very stand offish and leery when a strange vehicle is there. When it is just the normal vehicles they don't even give it a second look. They wander right through the driveway and feet from the house. When there was a different vehicle there they were very cautious and didn't come as close. They knew something was different and out of place.

Where do you live at so I can set my blind up in your yard?

My outhouse is in a great spot for deer! Everytime I go in it there are deer that run by and I'am left with my pants down, or I'am in mid wipe and see one threw the peep hole. Once I farted so loud that I scared one off. Other then that I would rather hunt else where.

I think blindness would result from walking past your outhouse.

Slinger........
My friend has that blind and likes it.......We tried a hunt with the two of us in there but it was very small for two guys.......I'm sure it is great for one hunter........I bought the doghouse which is the next size up......It measures 5' X 5' and is just under 6' high......It is perfect for two guys and we've been very successful hunting turkeys and deer with it.........I also have the snow camo cover for it........On the colder days the blind not only conceals you but also keeps you out of the wind.......Just some thoughts.

JCDEY, the doghouse version is the one I have. I accidentally referred to it as outhouse.

I think most animals are oblivious to a blind. On opening day (bow) of deer season, my buddy and I both hunted the same clear cut. Where I was in the tree, I could see him in his blind. It is an Ameristep Doghouse Pop-up. He had several deer walk within 10 steps of him in open clear cut, no cover, just a blind sittin in the middle of dirt and stumps. My gf bout me one just like his and I had turkey, the sharpest eyed critter in the woods, walk within 30 yrds of me and never even turn a head. I am very confident in a blind, so much that I didnt get my treestand out the last month of deer season.
