OK, for school I have to choose 7 poems that have a "special" meaning to me. This ought to tell you how queer the people who write the text books are. Anyhow, I dont think I have ever read 7 poems in my life. Do you guys know any good hunting poems, or know where I could find some. I have googled the topic, and have not come up with too much. If any one knows of anything please let me know.

Can't give you much help on hunting poems but if you do a search on Robert W. Service you will find a wide assortment of poems about the gold rush to Alaska and life in the northcountry. One of my personal favorites is "Bessies Boil".

THANKS TO DAD

The time that I spend hunting,
Is a tribute to my dad.
A perfect role model, maybe not.
But he was the best one that I had.

And some say he was rough on me,
When I was just a kid.
But I think it's because of him,
I turned out like I did.

Without hunting as a teenager,
I might have lost my way.
It was the thing that bonded dad and me,
And still is to this day.

It gave him time to talk to me,
And teach me lots of things.
Not just about hunting but,
The changes each day brings.

It also gave me time with him,
And I'm thankful for that chance.
Because I lost him way to soon,
I could have missed that dance.

And I wouldn't have these memories,
To cheer me when I'm sad
And I might not be a hunter,
But I am, Thanks to Dad.

1-I like to hunt, I like to kill. Show me a 10 point and I'll show you a thrill.
2-Hunting is for cool people, we like to sit in trees. As for these stupid poems all I can say is PLEEZE
3-When you're walking in the woods and you feel you have to p, it's best if you can walk around and find a great big tree. Find one that has no vines and no climbing furry stuff, 'cause if you get that on YOUR tree it'll be itchy, scratchy, and rough.
4-idea "Ode to treestands"
5-Shoot 'em up, hang 'em up, gut 'em clean. We eat deer meat nice and lean.

7 For squirrels I hunt, all covered in fluff
When I get a bead on one, all you'll see is a puff!
8 Large antlers and white tails you see scurry by
I bet all they think is, "I'm gonna die!"
9They look beautiful and majestic upon yonder hill,
but they'd look even better atop my grill
10 Whitetail hunting is simply a must,
if for deer burgers and steaks and backstrap you lust!
