Permission to ride
Correct. We ALL have arrest powers! It's called citizen arrest. Both my parents worked for the dept when I grew up.
Anyway's. Back on track. I am a 35 yr old with wife, kids and the 2 dogs. We own a new house where min acre is 1/2 acre. Dirt bikes and atv's ride around us all the time. I have 3 ohv's. I had same problem with people (kids and adults) rinding in our yard. Only 1/3 is fenced. All I did was place signs up. No big deal. It stopped. The dogs were going grazy and I didn't want the shepherds (pure breed) jumping the fence. For me a simple sign worked.

Well I mean goverment empowered officers, not private security firms.. Who can arrest on a warrant and detain when working for a goverment agency. I worked for a goverment agency we had all the same access to weapons, records, arrest, pulling vehicle over, etc under authority granted by the Congress.

Not every one who has land has money. Our land has been in my family for 4 generations. In no way are we rich. We are not doing bad but with the price of land now there is no way we could afford to purchase a track more than a couple hundred acres. I work hard for my money just like every one else, I am just fortunate that my great grandfather staked off what he did. (PS: I know for a fact he didn't keep it by posting no trespassing signs either, it was with his pistols in hand)

So jealousy is your problem. With your whining, you sound like a spoiled rotten little kid. Stay where you are if people there are putting up with your completely twisted sense of right and wrong. With your attitude there are plenty of high IQs in other states that would quickly straighten you out legally and physically, with or without a gun. You give the sport a bad name.
georged; for once we are in complete agreement!!!!!!!

Permission to ride
Well I've got a kick out of reading this thread. MotoF150, if you don't believe the rest of the law-abiding atv riders on this forum, come and ride on my property without permission, I bet you won't do it again. I'll say right now I'm only 16 years old, but I know how to respect other people's property and I expect them to return that respect to me. I have many people riding on my trails right now, which actually run through other peoples property, however I have permission to put them there and maintain all of them. Some of them didn't ask for permission, but they are respectful and take care of the trails so I don't mind. Then there are others who ride in the rain and do other careless things that rut the trails up and tear them to pieces. It just seems simple to me, if you want to ride my trails, just ask, or at least respect them, and you can ride as much as you want to. It isn't that hard.

3 pages....come on. Its pretty clear to me that f150 boy is just trying to get a rise out of everyone on here. This will probably continue forever if you dont just ignore it. I agree with being a responsible land user, but the little gun comments are uncalled for. I am a IN concealed weapons permit holder, pack a .40 GLOCK 22, and I dont give a good god damn where I am- If someone starts lobbing bullets at me, they better hope I dont make it to my JEEP ( or the Blade tech belt slide holster if Im not on the Quad) cause they WILL be hurtin. And I AM NOT some dumbass kid . So quit threatning the children with your nickel plated sissy pistols cause youre NOT a man if you cant approach someone and discuss your problems with them. And if they dont wanna talk, B*tch smack em' in the mouth....then call the cops.

Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooow, I can't beleive I read most of this. F150 I live in a place with the same problem! It really sux! We had some places to ride for years and years. But most of them are gone now. But the best way to gain permission is to be nice and ask first. Tell the people that you are responsible, clean, and hard working before you just blurt out. "Hey I wanna ride on your land." Let them know that you will work with them and help take care of, and keep the place clean. Have you a waiver already written up that guarantee's that you will not sue them. You will have a lot more places to ride!!!

If you own the land im on all I ask is be a man and tell me you own it and I will tell you im sorry and leave, no problem, but I do have a problem when you threaten me without me knowing I did anything wrong, if its your land or not it doesn't give you the right to threaten to hurt or kill me. State owned trails for ATV's to ride are a joke, the State has **** Police that harrass everybody, the trails are straight and level, they don't offer any rough trails that are tough to ride, its a joke like your riding on a merry-go-round and everybody must go slow, stay on the smooth trail, don't stop to take a leak or the rent-a-cop **** police may get mad, ohhhh nooo, im scared, please don't yell at me , im sooo scared fat, overweight rent-a-cop, your so tough, and im sooo scared of your authority.
