will do! going in stages at the moment, first will be battery only with LED lights and a switch/fuse distribution panel west marine, I figure why go through all the wiring when it is already done right!

I know I'm reviving an old thread, but I'm interested in this. I've been thinking about putting together a little solor panel, battery and light system for my "dream shooting house." You know the one you design while you're sitting in the ratty one for hours and hours. These are some good posts.

Two sets of led lights would be good. One set for red when you're getting in in the wee hours and another set for after dark when you're packing up to leave. Maybe a special directed one for reading or something.

I wonder if they make a heater that could go with this system?

A wood stove goes best with that system. But you can use a 12V fan to move the air around.

A wood stove in a shooting house.....never thought about that. You could make a mini stove easy enough, but would it spook the deer?

In a cabin, I agree a wood stove is perfect.

Depends. If you went out every day for several months and started a fire in then it probably wouldn't. If you just go out and start a wood fire during deer season then it will certainly spook them.

Deer get spooked by things they aren't accustomed to. I see it at my place all the time. They hang around my house without a care in the world. The A/C unit or furnace can come on and it doesn't bother them. The garage door can go up and down and they pay it no mind. The sounds of ATVs and tractors, farm equipment and vehicles don't bother them either. They see and hear this stuff all the time. It's a normal part of their environment. They only get spooked if they hear or see something different. A different vehicle, a different sound or something new around the place. A different vehicle in the driveway and they get really spooked and they know something is up. They even pick up on it if you park in a different place. Something as simple as a box or a bucket in the yard that wasn't there before spooks them. Takes them all sorts of investigating and eyeballing that new item before they begin to feel safe around it. It's quite entertaining to watch.

ARCTIC HUNTER how did it all turn out? sounds like a great project. I know it has been awhile but old campers could have everything you need and if the power supply still works when you have a generator just plug in and it will run lights and charge batteries, thats would they are built to do.
