landscape rake and back blade
#1
I'd like to hear from anyone who has purchased a landscape rake or back blade for their quad. So far I've only found two manufacturers (MonroeTufline and Worksaver) but haven't received any prices yet. I have a Kodiak and my neighbor's Kingquad that will be pulling the accessories. Does anyone have any advice or personal experience to share with me? I'd really apppreciate it. We will be dragging a lot of gravel around since both my neighbor and I have 1500' driveways. Thanks.

I had to do some spreading of dirt for my neighbor, though it was much harder than snow to move, after you get used to using a snow plow it does work and it can be used for snow as well. Try angling the blade too! Plow blades work best O/A with a wench not the manual lift.
I am actually in the process of making a device to install on ATV's to do what you are looking to do.
Hope this helps for now!
HAVE A BLESSED DAY!

Cabelas sells some of their products. Weekend Warriors site has been down for a little while. Here are some links:

Hello again,
Thanks everyone for your input.
Here's what I've found out.
Cabela's, Swisher, and Stevens Tractor all carry atv accessories but not a pull behind landscape rake. But.... I have found 3 sources:
York rake models TA1 $510 delivered (wilco.com/YorkTA1.html)
Worksaver model PLR-48 around $400 (worksaver.com)
ATV-LR Series rakes $455 + ship. (monroetufline.com)
Now I have to compare features. Some you can add a scrapper blade to the frame.
Unfortunately, there are no local dealers for the above sources and the rake will have to be ordered no matter who I go with.
Thanks again.

Greeting,
Northern has a bunch of this stuff. They once sent me a landscape rake by mistake and it was a solid piece of equipment (and took up much room until they arranged for a pickup/return). If I can offer some related advice (and yes I repeat myself here) -- check the hitch. A "univeral hitch" aint all that universal when it comes to ATVs. If the hole in the implement hitch isn't the same as the hole in your ATV hitch you won't get a snug fit with a lynch pin and things won't go well. I messed around with a mower for a couple of years before converting it to a ball-type hitch -- an interesting project but not one I would want to repeat. Most people consider gravel a challenge and I've never heard of anyone (save for the one response above) who successfully used a snow plow to move it. A box scraper may be the best bet but most people will say its a job for a tractor.
