I hope they don't win a thing anyway. All of these enviro ****'s and anti-gun activest's actually are becoming terrorist's themselves when they are stringing piano wire across trails and planting boards with nails in the ground along with disturbing the wildlife to ruin a hunters chances of taking game. I hope they don't start moving into my area. The Government or should I say democratic liberals seem to be siding with these freaks more and more. My local Rep. is a hunter and supporter of the ATV crowd as well. His type doesn't get thanked enough for their efforts.

The 300 Remmington Ultra Mag might be a bit too much for deer in your home state if you are woods hunting. Maybe if you are hunting from one hill to another (600+ yds) it would be O.K. It might be a tad of an over kill for close range elk too.

The problem with some of the cartridges today is that they place too much emphasis on velocity. Most hunters can't see a deer at 600+ yards, let alone hit it or worry about silly things like bullet drop. They are the proverbial "answer to the question, more?". At close range I can truly prodict that a lot of hunters will be loosing a lot of meat because it's bloodshot because of these "magnumn cartridges".

<< SO
do ya see why the diaperheads dont attack the USA directly?
only nation on earth where the people [including myslef] are more heavily armed and better trained than the local national guard barracks!!! USA!
>>

There was a lot of truth to that statement, On the west coast during WW-II there were plans by the Japanese to do small scale invasions/occupations as a demoralizing tactic. It was even disscussed at length by the Japanese military big shots and ruled out due to the number of homes that were believed armed in the good ole USA. Today they would have no interest in a ground force invasion. Too easy to use jet airplanes as bombs. Besides they don't want to occupy America, they just want us all dead.

OOOOOH!!! My kind of topic.

Deer: Remington 700 mountain rifle .280 Rem, Savage 111 .338 Winchester Magnum, NEF Handi Rifle .45-70 gov't.
Varmints: Remington 700 Varmint .220 swift, Ruger 10/22 .22lr.
Hunting Handgun: Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 magnum
Protection Handgun: Glock 21 .45 acp
Doves, Ducks, Geese, etc: Ruger Red Label All Weather 12 guage.
Stress Relievers: Ruger Mini 14 .223, Smith and Wesson M44 .22 lr pistol.
Protection Scattergun: Mossberg M500 12 guage w/18.5" barrel.
Antique: Carl Gustav 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser.

Future gun (Maybe, if I have the $$$$$) Barrett M90 or M99 .50 caliber, Armalite AR50, State Arms Rebel 50 caliber, or LAR Grizzly Big Bore 50 cal. If I cannot afford that, I'll settle for a Springfield Armory M1A.

What slower .30s are you talking about?

Any port in a storm man. Most people don't own a .454 Casull, .480 Ruger, or anything Linbaugh, so should they leave their daily carry gun (gang banger piece) at home even though they shoot it on a regular basis and are proficient with it. Are they better off to be unarmed or to carry what they have? I seriously doubt anyone buying a Glock, Sig, Kimber etc solely for grizzly protection.

A big stick, which is about the only legal weapon to own in Kalifornia.
(oh crap, I shouldn't have said that out loud, it'll be the next assault rifle)

They can take away my big stick when they pry my cold dead hands from it.
