I'm sorry to change the subject here, but there's a little issue that needs to be addressed. If any of you are for this issue, I'm sorry if I offend you, however as a U.S. Citizen, I feel it is my right, liberty and duty to voice my opinion to the utmost on this matter at hand.

It seems that Congress, namely Clinton and Gore, have declared an all out war on all guns here recently. I would like to urge each and every one of you who owns a gun, or plans on buying, to contact your state senators and represenatatives and urge them to vote against this issue.

Between the environmentalists and our current leader, all our civil liberties and rights as U.S. citizens are either being taken away, or greatly restricted. I know you've all contacted someone about atving topics as far as land closures, or future openings go, so please, once again, I am asking you to contact them on the matter of gun control.

For those of us who are avid hunters or outdoorsmen, who would like to pass the tradition of hunting and shooting on to our children, and their children, please act now. We need to come together and stop this nonsense once and for all.

Thank you for your time.

Mike

Bill Clinton is trying to do for firearms what the legislators did for three wheelers. When an accident ocurred on a three wheeler they blamed the bike and not the operator. I personally had years of enjoyment (and also my kids) on them. I know many of you don't know that from a 200x to a 250r I paid between $1500 and $1750. Since they were banned and 4 wheelers legislated in a premium bike is now around $7000. Again these guys are whipping people into a frenzy calling for locks and personal ID guns and threatening manufacturers. They are trying to tax ammunition and firearms and limit sales of both. I personally don't smoke cigarettes but I believe smoking was just another right of free Americans that was trampled on. You can sit back and laugh but we are beginning to parallel **** Germany in the 30's. By the time the citizens realized what Hitler was doing he was in complete control----Just like the "Bill" and Al. Please don't go out and hug a tree--Get politically active in grass roots thru the presidential election on firearms, BLM, and other things of concern to us. Gardner10

Good points. However, I would like to add that it is in every gun owners interest to join and support the NRA. To date they are the only group that has refused to bend over and take Clinton and Gore's socialist agenda.

we have a primary election in a few weeks and one canditate, shwartz i think her name is ends her commercial saying "i stood up to the nra to keep our children safe" for this one statement she will not get my vote she is definitly out of touch with what i feel will keep my children safe.children and guns have been around in this country since we became a country and guns havent really changed.weather you own a gun or not parenting stays the same and untill all parents become full time parents and teach thier children to respect themselves and others and that we are responsible for our own actions things will get worse.if i even thought about taking a gun to school when i was 15 my father(and my mother) would have kicked my a$$.i am a gun owner and its my responsibility to teach my children about the danger of guns and respect for them

It is crazy for our president to do this. If they take away the good guys guns then only the bad guys will have them. Nothing will really change because you know the bad guys will always have a way to get more guns. The other day my friend was getting off the bus station in Cleveland and needed money to get back to school. The ATM machine was broken so he asked a security guard if he knew where one was. The security guard said about a block up the street. My friend walked there and then after seeing no ATM decieded to hail a cab so he wouldn't be walking around in downtown Cleveland. He got a cab and the driver took him to an ATM. After my friend got his money the cab driver put a gun to his head and took his money. Thank god my friend wasn't hurt or killed. It just scared the living daylights out of him.

I really enjoy threads that show the true feelings of the average citizen. Every post is right on.

Since when is it bad for someone to fight for their constitutional rights??? Can you say second amendment?

The upcoming march should be dubbed the "Million Moron March". Guns don't kill people, people do. Who is watching the kids that these "Mothers" had while they are all out marching???? Talk about irresponsible!

Why don't they march against BUCKETS OF WATER???? MORE KIDS ARE KILLED BY DROWNING IN BUCKETS EVERY YEAR THAN ARE ACCIDENTALLY KILLED BY GUNS!!!!!!! BUT NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! THERE IS NO CONSERVATIVE ORGANIZATION THAT LOBBYS FOR BUCKETS OF WATER THAT THE LIBERAL MORONS CAN GET ON TV AND LIE ABOUT, SO THEY DON'T MAKE IT AN ISSUE. IDIOTS!

Why is it that liberals want to spend billions on education, but not a dime on FIREARMS EDUCATION???? THAT would save lives. But that also makes too much sense.

Just more examples of their hypocracy.

Sorry, you hit a nerve.

You guys are welcome around my campfire any time! Where would the rest of the constitution be without the second ammendment? I blame the media for most of this mess, when was the last time you saw a report on the 10 o'clock news about someone using a gun in self defense? Let some kid in a crack house get ahold of his felon relatives, stolen gun and it's all over the media. I saw an article last week that stated there are 700,000 licensed Physicians in this country and last year there were 120,000 "accidental" deaths in hospitals ect. There are a reported 80,000,000 guns in this country and last year there were 1,500 accidental deaths, including hunting accidents. The article stated that you're 9,000 times more likely to die under the care of a Physician than by an accidental gun death. So let's see, are trigger locks and so called smart guns going to solve anything? I think not.

Here in Utah during our Legislative session there was a big push to ban legally carried guns in churches and schools, luckily the Republicans won out and there were no new restrictions passed. Now there are anti gun groups pushing to get the measure put on the ballot in November. What these people don't realize is that the only people this would affect is the law abiding citizen. Could they really think that by passing one more feel good law that a criminal would even think twice before breaking it? What needs to happen is that the laws that are already on the books need to be enforced and the Justice system needs to deal out swift and sure punishment. If a criminal uses a gun during the commission of a crime or is caught with a gun while on either probation or parole the dirt bag needs to be put behind bars and not be allowed to plea bargain the gun enhancements away!
I appologize for rambling but this is a serious subject in my opinion and every day we are loosing the battle to the anti gun crowd. I know that each of us alone cannot do much to stop this but if we band together and call/write/email our Congressmen/Senators/State Reps. we can make a difference. I also encourage you to support the NRA/GOA they're doing their best and they won't let us down without a fight.

Well, allow me to throw in my .02 on the issue. Some of you have said it, and it is not just a matter of telling you representatives in both the House and the Senate: we have to vote!!! This is as much, if not more of a right than is the 2nd amendment, for it came before and is the basis of the constitution. When you call them, tell them that you will be voting for the candidate who is for the constitution, not just gun rights.

Here in Ohio we have a problem with turn-coat Representatives. I am a Social and Economic conservative and registered Republican, however when it comes to my Representatives to both the House and Senate, I have not voted Republican or Democrate in years because of people who were not true to their word. Nor will I as long as the same people keep getting the nominations. I will always seek a consitutional person.

Second. Let companies like Colt and Smith & Wesson know how displeased you are with their caving to the illegal pressures and tactics of our current administration. I have written letters to both and will any company that follows in their pathways informing them that I will no longer purchase, nor seek firearms of their manufacture, but will purchase others, especially Sturm Ruger who has openly battled both the Government and Trial Lawyers.

Third, Join every organization you possibly can at the grass roots level. I am rather put off by the NRA at this point for spending millions of dollars back in 94 on a new palace when those monies should have been directed to fighting Brady, but I contribute to others constantly.

Finally, be very vocal, but be smart. There is a perception that gun owners are unintellegent, Redneck, Bubba types that wear only camoflauge and drink beer, but we are not, we are honest upstanding citizens and often professionals and honest tax-paying worker that make America what it is today. Read as much as you can. Become educated and concerned. Be seen in the Schools and offer assisance frequnently. And get involved with youth programs to instill hunting and proper gun ownership values in the young inpressionable youth of your community. By doing this we will take the wind out of the sails of a really very vocal very small percentage of people who are making policy by being the only voice heard. It's called the Preto princliple. 20% of the people make 80 % of the descisions for 100% of the people. Let's make ours the loudest, most educated voice being heard.

Sorry for the sermon, but when you're a pastor and you give the opportunity I'll take it every time.

I must admit, I wasn't quite sure the kind of response to expect from this kind of post, but I am thrilled to see so many of you guys who share the same point of views. This is a touchy subject, but I think every post on here is filled with excellent points, and I am glad to see so many of you voice your true opinions. Individually, we are nothing, together as a whole, nothing can stop us! Whether it be gun control, land closures or whatever else those damn politicians try to take away from us, the louder the voice of the concerned, the greater the chance we have of being heard. We need to all come together on issues such as these, to set the record strait, and show our government exactly what we think. It is the only way for us to stop such crazy and drastic measure, brought about by these clowns that claim to run our country.

Thanks to everyone, I'm glad to see I'm not alone.

Mike
