We have a new one acre pond that leaks...any ideas on how to seal it?

Does it have a liner?, or is it a clay base? or is it rock?

We started with a clay base that held for a week or so, drained the pond and put down bentonite that lasted for two weeks.

being from jersey, and putting clay liners in landfills, either its the wrong type of clay or it was not put down thick enough and rolled properly. perhaps there is too much sand in the clay. soulution to the problem would be drain it and line it with plastic, or the right clay, proper thickness, and compacted.

If you've got clay, I'd trackhoe a new core trench in front of the dam, and put a foot of clay pack back over the front side and core trench. lotsa $, but not many choices.
