I've been fishing a couple times. I've caught seven trout so far this season. (7 more than last year.) Just wondering if anyone is catching anything and what bait you've tried.

 

I've been out twice, caught one 14" Rainbow on salted minnows. I live in western NY and fish mostly small streams with salted minnows and small spinners, mainly mepps and panther martin's. I use an ultra lite rod setup.

 

A 14" trout is a nice size. The largest I've caught is 12 1/4". I caught 4 trout (mostly rainbow) on the first day with a spinner. Then the second day I had caught 3 brook trout with worms. I like to fish the small streams also. Everyone that was fishing in the creeks were complaining because they didn't catch anything.
