A bit about myself. My name is Dave and have just returned to ATV riding. I rode 3 wheelers for many years when I was in my teens and twenties. Well, now I'm in my forties and have my wife and 2 son's. Ethan is 9 and Reese is 7.
We bought a 50cc Kazuma for Reese so he could ride around the yard (and stop hounding me to get one). Well as you may already know, 1 quad and 2 boys do not add up. So we bought a 90cc quad for Ethan shortly there after.
All was well until I took them and there toy's to the field where I fly my RC helicopters. Large open spaces where they could stretch there legs and have some fun. Boy did they soak that up! But it became clear to me that there intrest was genuine and riding in the back yard was not going to do. I decided I could not allow them to go so far away that I could not get to them quickly in the inevitable crash to come. The solution.....Dad gets his own. So the next quad in the fleet was my Honda 300ex.
I am having the time of my life! I had forgotten how much fun it is to ride ATVs. My boy's and I ride every weekend. My wife wants us to get one for her so she can come along. So we will soon be getting our 4th machine.
I hope I haven't bored you too much. If you made it this far, thanks for reading.
Looking forward to meeting new friends and exploring new grounds.
Dave

Welcome to the forums. One of the main reasons (other than collecting firewood in VT and NH) to ride was teenage sons that needed a hobby that I could share with them. Many miles and trails later I can see that it has been good for all of us. Great fun with friends and family.

awsome... In from southern PA (just north of Hagerstown) where are you from. I have a 10yr old myself and we are looking for people to ride with. You say you go out every weekend.. wow you must have a spot or two, we are looking new places to ride as well. My wife has no interest, but we are working on that. Anyway shoot me a message next time your heading out... maybe I could meet you and ride together.

Thank you all for the warm welcome.

xcitmt,
We live in Perryville MD. If you look at a map, we are at the mouth of the Susquahanna river in Cecil county. I have found a couple of decent trails within 10 miles. I also have met a fella in Dulaney Valley. That happens to be the same place I fly my RC Heli's (how convient).
A friend of mine has 10 acres in Hereford as well. In fact, his club is hosting a Hare Scramble this coming weekend. If your intrested, drop me an email at joppasigns@gmail.com

We are always looking for places to ride too.

Dave
