Hi everyone.
I'm new to the atv community. I have a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon which I 4-wheel in occasionally but am planning on buying 2 new 4-wheelers in January. I've come here looking to absorb some of the wisdom you all will hopefully share with me to make the buying/maintaining process easier. I'm a female, and not very mechanically-inclined so take it easy on me.
I do have plenty of land here in PA to ride (my family own 67 acres of forest in the mountains).

the best atv i say to get i have had a chance to ride alot of them i say the brute force 650 if you want a 4x4 with a sport ride if you want a power house mud and working machine 750 is the top dont get me wrong the can amm 800 is a fast nice atv but no place to put things... and are really pricey so for the money can't go wrong. please feel free some one else to say what they think about a nother bike

 

Thanks for your advice. I love it when you guys give me specific models to look at. I've checked out a bunch of Yamahas and found that I like the look of a sport vehicle but the performance of a work atv. I've found that just like used car salesmen, I can't trust the words of an atv salesman. They see a 27 year old girly-girl with cash and the dollar signs start accumulating in their eyes.
I know I don't want straight axle (I think) and 4-wheel drive is a neccessity. Other than that--I've been pretty stumped.
I'll check out the Brute Force 650.

There are lots of models to pick from. I'm not so familiar with Arctic Cat but they have some nice looking machines with good ground clearance. Yamaha has IRS machines from 350cc on up. Kawasaki has the Brute Force in 650 and 750cc machines. They use a funky little lever on the left handlebar to lock in the front wheels. Suzuki has the King Quad from 400 on up. The 500 and 750 versions have power steering available. CanAm has from 400 on up in both utility and a couple of really sporty utility machines called Renegade. They also have some power steering models. CanAm are usually the most powerful per cc than any other machines out there. Polaris has the Sportsman line. 300 on up to the 850 XP. Also have power steering available in the 550 and 850. Arctic Cat, Polaris, and CanAm also have 2-up machines that are legal for 2 riders pretty much anywhere in the US.

 

I know i left some stuff out yea the lever on the left sold me when i bought one back in the day. plus if you watch alot of video's you see that some atvs speech for them self as long as the rider is not a wimp some time you need to really hit the gas hard and some dont so the rider and the machine are kinda one

Well my only advice would be to just take a day trip and hit all the dealers. Sit on every bike and ask to rde the ones that fit well. Then go home, tell the forum your short list and weed out the bias. In the end it is what feels right. And good customer service from a dealer speaks volumes. But when you need help breaking in some new trails on those 67 acres... well send me a message and I'll help you dig a few in.
