Transmission chain

Anybody know the proper tension (how much slack variance) for the transmission chain on a 2001 polaris scrambler 500 2x4. Old one looks good but has a lot of slack and seems to be coming off the gear teeth.

Welcome to the forums. I had an 2002 Xplorer and the deflection was something around 1/2" when resting.

Welcome.. Not sure of the technical answer, I have always set them up to have about 1/2" while sitting on the seat.
