polaris sportsman 300 sand in carb!!!
#1
Hi....we need help!!! We bought a 2008 Polaris Sportsman 300 in Dec 2009...brand new. We have taken it back to the dealer 4 times, tommorow will be the 5th for the same problem. ATV will be running, then start sputtering, then shut off with fuel leaking from overflow. Reason...sand in carb. Polaris initially denied stating sand was getting in thru gas...however, 2 techs, service mgr, myself and my son stood and watched as they drained gas from tank and it was clean, so was tank. Gas filters had caught some debris but when we cleaned the carb out, there was very fine grains of sand in it which apparently clog up needle/float. We now believe they are getting in thru the air filter area....has anyone else experienced this problem? If so, any ideas on how to fix?

welcome to the forum. try posting on the polaris forum for best results for your questions and more info. i would gues check the filter to make sure it is on correctly and maybe try an k&n or uni filter which is an oiled filter for better filtering. imo
