The Keweenaw area averages about 250"/yr, but up here on the hill we got close to 350" last winter. Yeah, we get a bit of snow. Great place for x-country skiing, snow shoeing (my fav) or sledding. We see a lot of trolls come up sledding in the winter

Damn. i though we got a lot of snow down here, but holy jumpin'. You guys must get massive snow drifts up there.

Snow gets about 4-5 ft deep and just stays that way for a few months. Drifts can get huge, sometimes. In some places it feels like driving in canyons, instead of roads. You get used to pulling up to an intersection and nosing out to see around the corner of the snowbanks. We LOVE snow up here! The only thing I don't like is shoveling the roof, or when the roof lets loose and the wife makes me dig out the kitchen window so she can see out while standing at the sink

Some years you can sled October to end of April. Most years Dec-mid April. The big lake, Gitchigumi, not only drops a lot of darn snow, it is also a massive heat sink and moderates our temperature. When its -40 in Duluth, on the western side and -10 downstate, it's 25 in the Keweenaw and we are loving it
