The reason I joined today is that im looking at getting a new quad. and by that i mean that my dad will probably pay for most of it. i currently have a 2001 trx250ex and want something bigger and reliable. my dad's looking at a 400ex and i found a 350 raptor. any suggestions? appreciate it. oh and it needs reverse

I've owned a couple 400ex sport quads- I loved them- but I don't think they come with reverse until about 07 
Great in the pits and tracks- parts are cheap and plentiful.
I wasn't a big fan of the raptor 350- to be honest, the 400 ex just felt like it had better pull from low to high rpm. I also had the 40 big bore kit, edelbrock carb and hot cam in it... I know I'm gonna get slammed for slamming the raptor but, oh well...
I ended up selling the 400ex because I was tired of getting stuck in the trails due to it being a low SRA-
I always wanted to try out the polaris outlaw 525 with it's IRS, which (for me) would've been a better fit then the 400ex because I do more trail riding.
Now I'm on a renegade 800x and well... best of both worlds.
If you do a lot or trail riding, not so much pit- you may want to scope out the renegade 500-
anyway- if I had to chose between the two- I'd choose the 400ex (or even a 400r) over the raptor...

Hey, My name is Darin McFarlain. I go by Clyde here and there. I have a 95 Honda 300 Fourtrax 4x4. I have all the factory parts, including the factory tires. My dad sports a CAN AM renagade. Hey put some 28 inch tires and a chip in it. He also snorkled it out himself. We both ride at the Marengo mud ride in Heber, Louisiana. He also rides in a park near Longview, Texas. I do ride on local property in Acadia parish, that is owned by friends. Also I'm looking for preformance mods for my Fourtrax adn I can't find anything. Links would be nice.
