Well hello Tom welcome to the forum, and yes I have questons for you. We race in several different types of racing from cross country to deep mud racing and travel all over doing this. Brakes we cannot keep brakes on our bikes. At all I have tried every compound I can find and non last long at all. Example is suzuki vinson deep mud racing. About two races and the front pads are gone. Sanded off. In fast just ordered 12 sets of EBC extreme duty. And those will only last about 3 months. HELP I can make them go fast I need help stopping them

Default CAN'T STOP....racing in mud

What disc design are you using-solid, drilled, slotted?

What is the composition of the brake pads being used?

Thanks
Tom

Ok there are 3 different bikes, suzuki vinson using solid disc, yamaha raptor 660 using slotted, and yamaha blaster using slotted. They all use the same pad EBC FA54R I have tried organic, semi metallic, and sintered, the only ones I have not tried are ceramic, but that is only because I have not found any.

Thanks for any help

Default Muddy Brakes

The jury is still out on which discs allow the longer pad life. Some say that solid offers greater life but no science in our bag to confirm. Without complete familiarity with the EBC product codes, be sure to use the SV serires EBC pad, not the R series.

Thanks for exchange

Thanks for your input and yes we did use the severe duty but not any longer because the life of the pads were not really longer for twice the price.

Default Muddy conclusion

We have absolutely no experience in using a wiper before the caliper but they have been suggested by some.

Thanks for exchange
