Default Ice/snow tires

anyone know about studding or screws for atv tires. which is better? I have honda 400x and am planning on being out on the lake. Also do the tires need tread bc I have a crap pair of tires with almost zero tread. Would they work?

If the tires are worn and almost bald you could try studs then load the tires up with "slime" so they do not leak air out the stud holes. Screws need thick tire lugs to bite into and even then they may fall out after enough riding and wheel spinning.

Maybe studs and a tube in the tires may work also. Put the least amount of studs that will do the job the front tires do not need as many studs, just enough so you can steer.

Sounds like a fun idea though, good luck.
