Default Twin Peaks 700/Prairie 700 vs Vinson 500 manual

Hi all, I'm new here but have been reading a lot of threads on this site and had a few questions of my own.
I am looking to get a used atv sometime this fall. Thats when I'll be getting the money. I really haven't had any experience at all with four wheelers except for this last summer I rode a Polaris Sportsman 500 ho idk what year, nothing extremely new, prob like a 06 or around there. It was great, it had good power and the ride was really smooth. it felt a bit to big for my liking though, and it almost felt too comfy. I rode it just through a few small streams and over small rocks, no long trails, no major off-roading.

I want the p700/tp700 cuz the power people say it has. I like the semi-auto on the vinson 500, and the handling.

a few questions:
how does the vinson 500 do in the rough stuff because of the lack of diff lock? does the limited slip dif do well enough?

I don't know how much power I need. will the p700 be too much? I want to keep whichever one I get for a while, so I don't want to get something small and grow out of it quick.

I have done a reasonable amount of research, and these seem to be pretty good reliability wise. anybody have any major problems with theirs?

thanks for your input

Here is a 500 4x4 shootout with the 500 Vision in it. Reviews of Motorcycle, ATV, Snowmobile and Watercraft vehicles

It gets good owner reviews here http://www.atvreviewnetwork.com/enth...e.asp?veh=3339

The Vinson uses the same 493cc motor as the current 500 KQ. http://www.atvreviewnetwork.com/enth...2=307759&go=Go

500s have lots of power there no trails around me that I can open up my 350 let alone my 500.
Once a 500 is in low range there is no stopping it unless it loses traction. It pull as hard as a big bore.

The 750 KQ has the same tow rating as the 450KQ. Same with the 550 Grizzly and 700 Grizzly and 450 Sportsman and 800 Sportsman.

Put it in low and off you go.
