Evergreen, CO checking in
Realitivly new to the site and also to quads. Been lurking for a bit trying to gain as much knowledge prior to making a purchase in about a month.
My primary intention for a quad will be working it as a plow in the winter months...at least that is the major justification to the wife . Probably buying used 500cc+ and when spring rolls around, may look for a lower cc sport model for my son to do some high country jeep road exploring.
Been following pricing on used models and have found the larger utility atv switch FI seem to be priced high here in CO. I am hoping the prices slightly drop over the next month so I can find a lightly used, higher CC FI Grizzly in my budget, $6000. Getting very excited to make the purchase. I have found great info on this site, especially a post concerning buying used and what to be aware of. I'm sure I will have many questions in the following months.
Hope to see some of you out on the trails as I do a fair amount of single track MTBing as well and see a lot of quad riders out and about in some of the same general areas I park at. The experiences I have had have all been great. The quad and motorcycle riders have all been very friendly when I have asked some questions. No worries though as I respect others and their wishes to have fun so I MTB ride singletrack in areas that are not the same trails used by quads so as to stay out of their way.
Here's to continued support for quad (motorized) and MTB trail access. I support both! Cheers and Happy Holidays.
