Hey everyone! My wife ran across this forum and signed us up. I've already read several useful posts! Looking forward to picking up some tips and tricks and hopefully some great places to ride near me. We recently ran across a great deal on a 2007 Can Am Max 800 XT and couldn't pass it up. We are really looking forward to putting some miles in on the trails! My wife and I, along with our 17 year old daughter (who rides a 350 rancher) love to ride the trails! Hopefully we'll see some of you out there! If anyone has any experience with the Can Am like ours and would like to make some suggestions on mods/upgrades, we are all ears! Happy trails!

One modification people do to that year Can-Am is to add an insert into the frame. If you run fairly quickly on trails with roots, and rocks it's not a bad idea. If you hit either front tire hard enough on an obstacle in the trail it could cause the frame to bend right where the lower front A-arms connect to the frame. We put a plastic one in my son's Renegade, and I put 3 pieces of box aluminum that was 1.25x1.25" square inside the spar box frame from the rear. Took a couple hours each time but is worth peace of mind. If the trails aren't as rough as they are up here in New England I wouldn't worry about it..
