AJ,
while not kehin carbs, this is pretty similar as far as carb details, the airscrew is in a diffrent location than shown here, needle retainers are diffrent, notches on needles are not standard, but it will show you a dual carb setup, and the main jet, and where to shim the needles, if need be. this carb is a Mikuni bds 28, as found on the Yamaha v star 650, hope this helps here is the link otherwise I can find some good pics, but they are for a set of 4 carbs, just like this..theory still holds though.. http://www.star-riders.org/starcruiser/volume1-1/gak.html here is the stack of 4, (same carb, diffrent application, good pics near the end of the article, ) http://www.star-riders.org/starcruis.../AirRoyal.html

thanks for the reply.
I guess what I'm looking for is what plastic, or other parts need to be removed, do the carbs need to be pulled from the engine, what parts to strip off the carb... actual location of the jets. An illistrated guide would be nice, but I can work pretty well from text.

AJ,
Remove seat, battery holder and airbox plastic, then unbolt and remove airbox assembly. The main jets are under the covers on the carbs that are on the opposite side from the black slide covers (does that make sense? I think I confused myself). Anyway, you could try to jet with the carbs in place but I found it easier to loosen the two clamps holding the carbs in the boots then rotate them a 1/4 of a turn so that it makes it easier to access the jets. Hope this helps.
