I like that cargo box idea. If anyone wants one that a few steps easier, I bought the Rubbermaid Action Packer box from wally world. They come in a few different sizes. They are pretty rugged, look decent, and allready have a latch built in, add just a bit of weather stripping, some longer bolts, or C clamps and your done. Most usefull mod yet.

I did the exact same thing a few years back after refusing to pay high dollars for a true "ATV BOX".
I ony need/want a box for long trips so I put my U bolts on the side so i can strap it on with bungie straps when I need it.

I think the box was only about 10 bucks and the hardware was about 5.

The strongest boxes I have ever seen are the "Action Packer" boxes. I use them for my wheeler and for work. I have one now for work that I have used for about 4 1/2 years and it is just now starting to come apart on the bottom. I have thousands of scattered nails and screws, my tool belt, etc, weighing over 100 lbs in this box every day(too lazy to clean it out). I have had it fall off my tailgate going down the freeway a few times and it never broke. I am very happy with these $25 boxes. They are also water tight for rain and have two strong latches.
