Hi everyone. Seems to be a lot of talk about the perf mods units, waiting for cdi's, and belt questions. I know in the old days for me and my dirt bikes, I didn't even really understand performance mods. I just made sure I had the right gas/oil mixture and hit the jumps. Now I spend $7000 on what I thought was the best ATV available and there are opportunities all over the place for performance gains. I didn't do anything for the first six months but I did read this forum and take notes.
I put in my new black spring a couple weeks ago and my squawkking went away but I did lose a few MPH on the top end. I couldn't ever get mine above 62MPH on a straight away. Funny, my friends with Grizzlies claim they can get to 64 -65 but they never catch me (maybe difference with the speedo's). My new Holeshot ATR's came in yesterday and I am still waiting for my DG snorkel. I am heading to the Black Hills of SD in June and realized since I am at around 1000 ft above sea level and they are at 4000 - 4500, I will need to rejet. I am at stock right now from the dealer. I have been looking at the dynojet stage 1 jet kit for 80 bucks. Does anyone think I should put in a K&N stock replacement filter on my 2003? That is another $50 and the wife just may shoot me. I had to put in a top end rebuild on her Polaris that shocked our budget. I am currently reading NYROC's stuff on jetting and any other info I can find. Any suggestions will be much appreciated.
