Default warrior start button not working, VERY FRUSTRATED

this problem has to be simple to fix but it has me TOTALLY STUMPED. new solenoid, battery is good, starter is good, neutral light works. borrowed a working start button from a 04 wolverine and still nothing, it has to be something with the start button circuit. i have a wiring diagram but it is gibberish to me. jumping the terminals on the solenoid works to start it, so i know there is power there. i am clueless when it comes to electrical stuff, i know the basics, and am pretty mechanically inclined, i just need someone who has a clue to point me in the right direction, i have checked connections, etc, they look fine. how many grounds are in the start button circuit? what could cause this problem? i am sick of carrying a wire with me just to go riding.

From my experience when it wont start, but it will start if you jump the terminals it is a bad soleniod. I had 2 go out on my Warrior.

try and wiggle the connectors on the CDI (black box in the back with 2 plugs) and try wiggling the wires on the two relays near the solinoid under left rear fender.

haha thats what popped in my head when i read it. should the solenoid "click" if it is bad? theres absolutely no sound when i hit the start button. only a click when i turn the key to the on position, signifying power there.

On a warrior you solinoid can be just fine and somewhere btween the Button and the solinoid is the problem. I can't rember wiggling wich wires makes em start. if its turn over no spark wiggle CDI and no turn over wiggle relays under seat. but wiggle sompin.. Maybe just shake the quad around somtimes is enough to get it to start.

ill get to wigglin' but im pretty sure i did all that when the problem first happened on superbowl sunday. i have been looking for a button and a guy i met riding let me hook it up quick on the trail. i think its somewhere between the button and solenoid but im an idiot when it comes to this electrical crap.
