Default Mud tires for a Prarie 650 '02

I got a 2002 Kawasaki Prarie 650. i was wondering what the largest tire size (mud tire) i can put on the stock rims with out having any problems like rubbing or steering problems (fenders, fuel tank rubbing, etc.) i am looking into buying either. Gators, Out laws, ITP 589, Mud Bugs. which one would u say has the best advantage in mud and also just casual rideing. but mainly mud and swamp situations. THANKS ALOT!!

Best tire for for 60% mud and 40% trail from what you listed, ITP 589's. You are missing a very important tire though, the ITP mudlites. They perform very well, are lighter weight, are 6 ply, cheaper and look cool too. Every other tire you mention is heavy and expensive compared to the mud lites. Give them a good hard look. If you have then cool, the 589's out of what you listed then. If you drive more mud then outlaws.

For mud and swamp riding, get the Outlaws, they are wicked! they aren't too bad on hardpack, but are primarily a mud tire. If you want something better on the trail, you have to give up a small bit of mud performance...

I have a set of 27" gators that have about 100 miles on them and there mounted on a set of chrome/black center wheels. The wheels aren't worth a crap though. I'll take $200.00 for them +shipping .

sledgehammer650 when you say the "wheels arent worth a crap" do you mean they are beat up or bent. Or do you mean you just dont like them or too heavy or something?

Sledgehammer650:AND ALL!!! why you selling?? just wondering. how'd you like them tho?? i'm really leaning towards Gators. i had a friend that has a (i believe, not sure tho) a four track, 4x4, (all time) its an older bike. he had vampires on all 4, but then he went to 2 gators in the back and really liked it. i actually really liked it also when i road his bike in some serious mud and it pulled right through. he ready to get another 2 for the front. Thats how i got into the Gators. another question. like the gators, out laws, and mud bugs. whats the real difference. besides weight i guess. they look about the same tread pattern?? THANKS FOR THE FEAD BACK!!

The difference between the mudbugs, gators and outlaws, even though they have similar tread patterns, is alot! The outlaws are the best mud tires you can buy, the vampires and mudzillas are very very good as well, the gators and mudbugs don't hold a candle to them when you get into the big mud holes. For trail riding and the odd bad mud hole you can't go wrong with the gators or mudbugs.

I would scrap all those tires and look at a set of mudlites.

the wheels have dents in them. the prairie got stolen and they gave it a really test ride and wore down a set of black waters. then i put on a set of gators 27x10x12 & 27x12x12. Now a going to be doing alot more sprot riding with a diffrent rineing group so i've ordered a set HL steel lites wheels and planning on getting some maxxis all track and that is why i'am getting ride of them can't afford to keep both.
