Default Deep water crossing and prairie?

I'll be running mostly deep mud and water and I'm wondering if the DG snorkel actually extends the height of the KVF intake or if just increases air flow. I'm leaning towards a prairie, but low overall height is a slight deterant. I do plan on lifting it and running 27's, but would I be better off with a Vinson with the same mods. (I've narrowed it down to these two quads) I know that the power is not comparable, but I'm interested in hearing some opinions.

The dg snorkle just increases airflow, it doesn't raise the intake height. If anything the larger opening would be more likely to funnel in splashes from high speed water runs. The intake is under the cover in front of the handlebar but unless the racks are under water your probably still safe.

I don't know if I would base my purchase on which ATV crosses water the best(just my opinion) but I guess it all depends on what kind of overall riding you do. I bought my "03" Praire after I had ridden my "98" 400 Praire for 5 years and loved it, I think the P650 is an awesome machine, I'm sure the Vinson has it's good points also(like ground clearance)...but when I bought my first ATV, I looked at how many moving parts there were to maintain(cv boots, axle joints, etc...), Kawasaki seemed to have the least amount.

over memoral week end we had some one with a 100% stock P650 in our group, We went ridding on a trail that had LOTS and LOTS of DEEP mud holes and he was hitting every one he could... Well you can probaly guess what happend next..... We came to this one that had a trail going up the hill just to get around it so that told me that I shouldent go through it, About that time he came flying past me and hit the mud hole about 20mph and sunk like a rock.... The atv was compleatly under water he was standinding on the flore boards and the water was up to his cheast, But he dident let off for a second and some how came out the other side of that mud hole just fine!!! How he got through it with out getting water in his intake, I dont know.........
