If you look at this picture, you can see the winch sits quite high in the grill. The cowl is the near the bottom of the front grill, so you can't have the cowl installed.

That article isn't actually on my website, i just redirect you to it if you want to know about the superwinch.

trx450,
That is the correct part that you are talking about. If you go to this link, you will see the difference between the 02 and 03. I'm sure that the duct tape trick would give you the same result. Picture is at the bottom of the page

The close up of my winch (a 3000i) in my profile has the plastic shelf. It sets right @ the bottom of the screen and just @ the bottom of the rad. The winch is not a Kawi mount though....it's custom and strong as can be I removed it so far and the mud actually drops off and takes a longer time to completely fill the rad with mud. Before the shelf acted like a cup. took it off and WOW like a storage container for the crap in the swampy holes. Probably got smooshed in throught the screen when plowing through the slop. BigMiks,
What neighborhood are you in? I live about 1/8th mile from Texas Jays strip club. Oh yeah. (No honey, I'm just going for a walk).
I don't know any serious mud riding Praire owners that haven't had issues with overheating. Welcome to the club. A friend has the Blaster Pump that we use on our rides on the Deadhorse trail. It has been a huge time saver. I was just talking to him about trying a bilge pump recently. If you look at the flow rates, some of the bilge pumps put out enough or more that the blaster pump does. The blaster works very well. I have a spare bilge in my garage storage some where that I am going to test out.
If a bilge pump works as good then it will be a cheap solution to our problem and a lot lighter to carry along.
Where do you usually ride at?

I hooked a bilge pump up to about the last 5 feet of an old water hose and put a sweeper nozzle on it. (looks like a cone and shoots a pencil size stream. It had alot of pressure and worked very well on the radiator. Total cost was less than $25.
