V force shoot out:(
#1
The new atv action shoot out, they didnt like the v force very much. They gave it 3 stars over all. They didnt like the brakes, tranny, engine had the least amount of power rated in stars, suspension was to soft. I think theres was defective.

They also said the DS beat the 700 by 7 quadlengths in a 150yd. drag race. Sorry, not in this lifetime.
ATV Action April issue: "The acceleration is staggering, eye-opening, arm-stretching, get-out-of-my-way fast" ATV Action July issue: "The V-Force motor did not impress us"
ATV Action April issue: "The V-Force may be the king of the hills." ATV Action July: "The V-Force is OK on hills as long as its a straight shot."
ATV Action April issue: "The brakes are as powerful as the engine" ATV Action July: "The V-Force's brakes seem overmatched by the weight and speed"
ATV Action April issue: "The V-Force's transmission engages so instantly and solidly we rarely felt like we were missing out on any power or speed by not being able to clutch or shift" ATV Action July issue: "You'll spend some time waiting for the belt tranny to catch up with the revs"
ATV Action April issue: "The suspension is perfect for a spirited trail ride" ATV Action July issue: "It just doesn't give you a good feel for the trail, and that's unsettling.
ATV Action April issue: "This big machine likes big air" ATV Action July issue: "The V-Force is a less-than-desirable flying machine"
ATV Action April issue: "The Kawasaki can cut through or across whoops gracefully" ATV Action July issue: "The V-Force hates aggressive riding in the whoops"
They said the tranny lags coming out of corners even though the belt never disengages on flat ground.
They said it had lower profile tires than the others even though it was the only quad with 22's on it.
They said they didn't feel big power down low on the V. LMAO
Even though the clutch on the V engages immediately, they felt it should engage sooner, like it needs more help getting the front up. Obviously they know jack about an auto.
I can't believe a magazine would contradict everything it said in an earlier review like this one did. Pathetic.
Maybe next time they could put a man on the V instead of the little pencilnecks that can't seem to handle it.

LOL!! Dont take it too hard cueball,
All that shoot out means is thier is something NEW coming out, and Kawisaki's Marketing money ran out. I have both the V-force and the Ds650, and I bought them BOTH for very good reasons!

Man , that is why i hate the quad mags, Dirtwheels had better love this machine. WHen they anicially tested it, they said in quote "If we had to choose a machine to do everything on, chances are this would be the machine we would choose." So i am looking forward to see what they say.

Mr.??????
Hey, I like that!!LOL J/K
Anyway, The main strength the DS has over the V-force is SUSPENSION. actually, that is its advantage over ALL quads so... But the other Dissadvantage the V-force has is the rear gas tank. when full, the rear of the quad is TOOO Heavy, and you really notice this when you start hitting some consecutive whoops. Once the rear-end of the quad get to bouncing the rear shock cannot handle it,and you must slow down and start over or you could get hurt. The DS however, as heavy as it is, is alot more Robustly biult and has shocks to handle its gerth. you can lean back and go alot faster AND safer through the whoops. Now keep in mind I ride mainly dunes, So this "wieght" issue may come in handy on the trails, were a lighter front end is a plus. I am sure since the V-force is an Auto, they wanted to make the front end as light as possible, so when your cruising the trails at higher speeds the auto tranny can still easily lift the front end with the throttle. Ever notice with scrambler, how once you get at 15-20 mph can no longer lift the front end with the throttle??
Engines???
Well, I absolutley LOVE my ROTAX engine in my DS, and believe it is one of the most WELL biult engines anywhere. I have FLOGGED that poor engine since day one,and I have only replaced a battery, and a Rectifier. The engine has never even thought about letting me down.
The V-force engine is Excellent!! It has more Biuldable power than ANY of the Big bore's. time will tell if it will hold up like the Rotax but my guess is it will. the V-force tranny is awesome, for just about everything. I dont have alot of experience in auto trannys, but knew when I test rode it, that it was perfect for my wife, and ME!
Performance,
Stock for stock, I think the DS is aliittle stronger. and I would still prefer a DS over the V-force, But THAT IS ME.
Now Moddified,???
thier is NO WAY a Piped And jetted DS(or rappy) can hang with a piped and jetted V-force! NO WAY! I have seen this First hand, and know that when the V-force is set-up properly it is FAST!! All I can say too anyone that dont believe me is , come to LS(okla) and put your DS, or Rappy against one.
As far as the shoot -outs are conserned, well. these Mags are a trying to sell ADDS,and the highest bidder wins, They are not about to tell the public the "bitter truth" they would be out of business in NO TIME FLAT!! cause NO BODY wants to hear AWEFULL things about thier product that they just bought a 2 page FULL add for. The best way to get INFO (real info) is to find a forum like this one,and start asking questions, and hopefully with enough time you can make an Educated decision for what works for your needs.

I ride mostly wooded trails and find the VForce is incredible for a stock bike. It really needs aftermarket suspension for the rough stuff but the Auto makes up for it on the trail. My brother has a Z400 with pipe and airbox mods and we timed them both and got times within 1 second on a 33 sec. course. That is pretty incredible for a machine that ways over 500lbs!!! This is a rough course and the suspension does hurt the times on the V. I think the times on the V would be much slower with a manual tranny. The V is by far the easiest sport quad to ride and I have ridden everything but the Predator.
Now lets see who's gonna put the auto in something like the YZF450!!!
