Change to a stiffer primary spring that will allow the motor to rev higher and it won't fall off on top. $20 investment, 15 minute installation.

The Polaris primary springs are the same and there is a much better selection. The stock Kawi spring is approx. the same as the blue/green Polaris spring and is rated at 20/90 which is much too mild for a 700 twin. I use the Polaris brown rated at 50/180, approx. 300 more RPM's stall and a lot better pull on top. The Polaris yellow rated at 40/190 should also work well.

Hotseat Performance

Hey Kevin, do you gain any top end or just get there more quickly?

Top speed on the V-Forces are as good or better than anything out there in my opinion, it just takes longer to get there than it should. The stock spring is the same as what Polaris puts in their 500 Scramblers and is a good way for Kawasaki to detune the V-force from the factory. With a stiffer spring you may gain a little top speed due to the extra RPM's you can pull on top, but the spring's main advantage is getting you to top speed quicker.

The black spring is used in the secondary clutch to put more tension on the belt giving less belt slippage.
