Help with rejetting a 650
#1
I am not an extremely mechanically inclined individual, but want to learn. Could someone please help me and point me to the jets on a 650 carb? I already have all of the plastic off and want to rejet and adjust the needles. I was on NYROC's site and read everything that he had there, but I don't want to take anything off that I don't need to and I still don't know exactly where the jets are located. If possible, please use pics. Thanks for you help!

The picture in this tech tip shows the side of the carbs with the float bowls. They have four screws each. Take those off, that is where the jets are. Be extra careful with the screws, make sure you have ultra good screwdrivers and can get a good straight shot at the screws. They are too tight. Might consider using a 1/4 drive socket with a philips bit on one of the screws.
I don't have photos of the other side, but if you take off the middle plastic, and the airbox, on the left side of the carbs you will see two black plastic covers (about 2" dia) over the diaphrams. That is where the needles are. Just pay very close attention to how those cam apart. It isn't complicated, just take note what order and in what direction those parts are.

I recently ordered and received my hmf slip on,
when ordering the jets they asked what other mods I had,
I stated dg snorkle and twin air filter
they recommended the following
145 front 148 rear 3.5 turns out on the screw
they stated these were new setting just received from the tech guy who tests their pipes for proper settings.
when I later ordered my dynojet kit from thunder products they recommended running three sizes small in the mains so the dyno jets would be able to adjust more to elevation.
which would subsequently be 137front / 140rear (keihin)
I have yet to install the pipes or jets because the snorkle hasnt arrived yet ( holeshot module)
