yet another tire question
#2
bear claws give a pretty good ride. spider tracks are good. I've heard dirt devils aren't to bad. black waters are a nice tire. a little aggresive but thats the only way your going to get a 27-28 inch tire.

I hear mudlites are a good tire as well. They come in the larger size but are a little lighter and ride smooth. Dirt Devils are a good tire but they are smaller than what they claim. A 26'' was smaller than my stock 25''.

I highly recommend the Mudlites. I have 26" on my 650, but 27" would fit no problem. They are 6 ply, and they are the lightest 6 ply tire on the market. They offer a very smooth ride, and they perform great in the mud. With my 26", I've only lost 3 km/h on the top end. Not sure how 27" would do. At yesterday's run, I noticed that a lot more people are starting to run them on there bikes. Word must be starting to get out on these excellent tires. LOL!!!

What did ya hafta throw for them Dan ? Just so I can compare prices. They will be my tire of choice, I'm just worried about the decrease in ride comfort is all...we don't play in the mud all the time !!!! How does it steer ? any harder ? I had maxxis sur trak on the honda, and really loved them...too bad they never came in the 26-28" range.

Well when I purchased the P650, the dealer took my new stock Dunlops on trade-in towards the new 26" Mudlites. So I ended up paying $200 plus my stock tires. The best place to buy tires is G.Bourque is Moncton. One of my ridding buddies purchased 4 new Mudlites for his bike. He stayed with the stock size of 25x8x12 and 25x10x12 and he payed $290 taxes included. I'm thinking that you could get 27" Mudlites for about $350-$400 taxes included in Moncton. You would be quite surprised with the ride comfort of these tires. They ride really smooth. They steer great, and they still allow you to swing that back end out when you want to LOL!!!!
If you plan in being in Lincoln anytime soon, let me know. You can drop in and try out my bike with the Mudlites and see for yourself. Then you can really get a feel for these awesome tires.

rivermud,
I'm assuming that these are US prices. Once we convert the currency to Cdn dollars, it comes out to $335 Cdn. Not a bad price if you ask me but then you still have to pay shipping and duties on these so I'm thinking that it probably be cheaper to buy them from a local supplier.
But thanks for the info.
