Hey everyone,

Looks like the rumours where true. Seems AC is coming out with 3 new quads based on our beloved 650 V-Twin. Check out the info and pictures here. It doesn't mention anything about IRS, but I would assume that it has it.

I wonder if they left it detuned or will they let more of the power loose. I was thinking all the AC's were IRS but I could be wrong.

I know it makes good sence for kawi to sell the motor that they don't plan on using anymore anyway, but I don't like the Idea of being top dog in the sport/utility class for the last 2 years only to now have the likes of AC be equal to me. It pi$$es me off!

That is a test I would like to see. IRS based vs. swingarm, same motor.

They cant sell the motor, ever since suzuki and kawi murged, suzuki has access to kawi motors, and kawi has access to suzuki motors,
being suzuki makes most all Artic Cats motors, it was only a matter of time that Artic cat got it, and it's the same motor as the 700, with less displacement.

After checking out the www.arcticcat.com page & looking over the Cat 650, it looks like a thought out 4wheeler. Weight is claimed at 644 dry, 12 inches of ground clearance & 10" of suspension f/r. I like the 7 gallon gas tank & I guess the FIS for rear suspension stands for - fully independent suspension. Can't tell in the photos if the wheels are steel or aluminum, if it has 1 brake lever as all of the Cats have & what type of instruments, digital or not. What about price too, being that their 500's were just a $100 or so less than what a '03 Prairie 650 was going for (list).
I have had Cats in the past years but one thing I have come to hate on a 4wheeler is the 1 brake lever system & I for one will never again have just 1 brake lever to control the braking action.
