Default Looking for a replacement muffler for the old Bayou 220

Hey everyone,

Went out for a ride last night with the old Bayou 220 since it hasn't ran much since I purchased the 650 and I blew a huge hole in the muffler. I'm wondering if anybody replaced the stock muffler with an aftermarket one and still has the old stock muffler laying around and would want to sell it. I don't need the header part. Just the muffler.

I checked ebay and there isn't anything on their. If anybody has one and is interested in selling it, please let me know. This is an old bike, I don't think it's worth buying a new muffler to replace it. If worst comes to worst, I can install an aftermarket Cobra muffler.

Thanks

Dan

I put a Cobra (utility series) on my 97 Bayou 220 and it sounds great. About $150.

I might have to go that route, but I would like to stay with the stock muffler is possible. Did you have to rejet when you installed the Cobra?

No rejet. Runs like a fresh - f***ed monkey! My dealer told me the stock mufler ran around $300 or $350 (without the header pipe). Mine stock is still in good shape so I put several coats of heat paint on it and stuck it in the garage so someday when my Cobra wears out, I can put the stock back on. I went with the Cobra utility (the more expensive one) series because it has a spark arretor in it which some parks require it. Good luck.
