Default In what way will Elkas change how my VForce handles??

I ordred mine direct from Elka so I paid full price. They asked me a bunch of questions because the shocks come set up from the factory for your weight, experience level, and terrain. Shipping to Utah and customs from Quebec Canada cost around $50.00.
Below is their quote to me.
*****************************************
You can take a look in the DirtWheel of this month (June edition) it has a good article on the V-Force with Elka suspension.

Here’s the different kind of shock we built with prices.

The ones we recommend for your application are in red.

They will offer a smoother ride; removing headshake and arm pump for a more
comfortable and faster ride, all shocks are ride height adjustable.

FRONT SUSPENSION

Pair fully adjustable (compression and rebound), in remote reservoir or piggyback:

For the Dual rate spring set up: $1040.00 US
(Banshee, Blaster, 300ex, Lt250r, Lt500)
For triple rate spring set up with self-sagging device: $1070.00 US
(400ex, 250R, Raptor, Z-400, Kfx400, Cannibal, Blaze, Fx400, KFX700 V-Force)
Long travel, Predator500 and DS650 with quad rate spring: $1245.00 US
(Houser, Walsh, Merrell, Pro-trax, Roll, Gibson)

The triple & quad rate set up has a 600lbs/inch mid spring that eliminate bottoming out.
The First spring is a self-sagging device (zero-preload) that lowers the center of gravity by 2 inch.

Pair adjustable in compression only, in remote reservoir or piggyback:

Dual rate spring set up: $865.00 US
(Banshee, Blaster, 300ex, Lt250r, Lt500)
Triple rate spring set up with self-sagging device: $895.00 US
(400ex, 250R, Raptor, Z-400, Kfx400, Cannibal, Blaze, Fx400, KFX700 V-Force)
Long travel, Predator500 and DS650 with quad rate spring: $970.00 US
(Houser, Walsh, Merrell, Pro-trax, Roll, Gibson)

If you are looking for maximum wheel travel, you should consider the compression only
shocks. They offer 3/4 inch more of shaft travel, so 2inch more wheel travel, compared to
the fully adjustable (except for long travel and Z400, Predator500, Kfx400, DS650 these set-up
have the same amount of travel either compression only or rebound and compression)

We can build those shocks and send them to you in 3 weeks or less.

All of our front shock comes with a rod of 5/8 for more resistance.

REAR SUSPENSION

“Most of our rear shocks offer more wheel travel than the stock units”.

The rear shocks come's fully adjustable (compression and rebound) in a remote
reservoir.

Single rate rear shock: $745.00
Double rate rear shock with self-sagging device: $775.00 US

All our shock are built depending on the riders weight, his type of riding and type of land
he usually ride.

All of our shocks are fully rebuiltable so you can change the valving at any time, replace a
seal head easily or replace the shaft if needed.
Any new option we offer will fit on all shock.

Plus freight and any applicable taxes or custom charge if applicable

Call us at 1-800-557-0552 to pass your order or for any questions you may have.

Thank you

Up until I started racing this year, I rode mostly utility quads in the mountains locally. Now I also do desert hare scrambles races in the desert southwest about 120 mi. from where I live. I've only done two races, one in May and one in June. The first race I did on my Vinson utility quad, the second on my V-Force. I actually placed better on my Vinson (17th/26) at the AMA Cherry Creek National Hare Scrambles. My girlfriend and I were the only two utility quads on the starting line. I had more of the right attitude and let it hang out more, but almost killed myself three or four times. The second race I was 19th/27 on my V-Force. This local race attracted about 5-6 pros and all quads were lumped into one class. I controlled the adrenaline more and didn't have any close calls, plus I went off the course on a tight turn and 5-6 riders got by. Plus I had a little FOT (Fear of Throttle) since this race was only my third time on the bike. Hey, but it was fun and I'm learning. I've got nothing to prove and just want to get better. The terrain is usually single track motorcycle courses with huge whoops, very tight turns in the trees (yes there are trees in the desert), steep up and downhills. Oh and did I mention big rocks? In my limited experience, there are few places on the course to open the throttle up. I think it's primarily suspension and stamina.

Good luck with your Elkas. I don't think you can go wrong.
