Kawasaki bayou top speed

50 mph out of a 220 utility?
That's odd my 350 utility does 45 and 500 utility does 55.
I,d like to drive my car at 50mph and look out my side window and see a 220 Bayou keeping the same pace.
More like it does 40 but feels like its doing 60.

50 mph might be pushing it a bit. A Honda Recon tops out at 48 mph and a Suzuki Ozark, which has a few more ccs(246 vs 229 for the Recon) will hit 50 mph. But even at 40 mph, a Bayou is out of its element. Its meant to be a cheap, nimble trail machine that can handle light work duties. Its modest suspension travel is not tuned for high speed running.

I purchased a 2000 model 220.
I've never checked it against another vehicle with a speedo.
With the recommended tire pressure, you will not stay at top speed for long, if you have any sense about you. My 220 is squirrely at top speed.
I increased the tire pressure & calmed it down a lot.
Hence, I slowed, run 4 psi front,3 in the rear.
As previously stated, it's a utility vehicle.
I originally purchased it for hunting, but I realized how much I enjoyed trail riding it.
