Default Smoothy Hood For Mojave

I'd like to install a smoothy hood on my Mojave. What have you guys done to your snorkle to eliminate the interference bewteen the snorkle and the hood?? Did you trim your snorkle?? If so, didn't this affect (increase) the amount of air to the carb? Did you have to re-jet?? The stock hood has that rubber boot that covers the snorkle opening, which must restrict the airflow??

Thanks for your input!!
