Default TWIST THROTTLE KITS

Hey guy's who is making twist throttle kits for both the P650 and the KFX700? I'm guessing one and the same kit but not sure.

Thanks a bunch.

As far as I know, no one makes a twist throttle kit for the 650 Prairie...I'm in the process of putting a twist throttle on my '02 650 Prairie, the KFX 700 would be different, it is not 4 X 4 ... it would be ( similar I'd guess to the 400 Prairie, only the selectable 4 X 4 switch & the handle bar cover, & twin carbs seems to be the difference between the 650 & the 400 )... a twist throttle kit is available for the 400 Prairie, from Motion Pro... I've ordered the Motion Pro, twist throttle for a 400 Prairie, my local dealer has 100's of cables in stock to look through for a match on the length & ends... the carbs are rail mounted, so it shouldn't take anything special for a cable...if you're interested, I'll keep track of what part numbers work, & let you know... WAM

Motionpro makes a twist throttle for both the V-Force and Prairie. I have one on my V-force. Not to bad to install.

Call Motion Pro. I don't remember the person that I spoke too but he set me up a few days after the V-Force was realeased. I'll see if I have his name somewhere and post it.

OK... I just got off the phone with Larry at Motion Pro... You can special order a kit to put a twist throttle on a 650 Prairie... there is currently no part number, as they are working on a relocation switch for the selectable 4 X 4 switch... it is currently part of the thumb throttle... I think there is room to turn the throttle / switch housing, remove the thumb lever & slide it up towards the handle bar cover, allowing room to install the twist throttle, if there isn't room, I'll need to replace the 4 X 4 switch & install it somewhere else ( which is required with the special order "proto type" kit you can order from them... Hope this helps...WAM

Hello,
I just called Motion Pro and ordered my kit, they have two kits available for the V, the Vortec and Pro Series. One being a faster throttle then the other. I ordered the slower throttle because of my past experiance with twist throttles. I've gotten myself into trouble with a twist before. At times while riding MX or just being nutz, I've gotten myself in trouble by not being able to release the throttle due to holding on for dear life LOL. I have always liked the twist over the thumb however, I know how to ride a motorcycle much better then a jet ski. Have a great day all, Putt
