When I am on the throttle of the big v I get a loud whine with it getting louder the more throttle I give. So my question is is it supposed to be there or should I take it to the dealer? It wouldn't be a big deal but when i let someone else ride it I could hear the whining before I could hear the exhaust coming through the woods with her being a pretty far distance from where I was standing. I have a sportsman 500ho and it dont even whimper loud enough to notice it. So should I be concerned or is it common on the vforce. Thanks

when I'm on my vforce I cant hear the belt, but I let somebody else drive it I can hear the belt as I watch it go by, so if you're hearing the belt I guess it depends on how loud it is. Mine does not seem loud enough to bother me or even notice when I'm driving. Based on your description your belt sounds louder.

The P650 makes this exact same noise, you get used to it after a while. From what I have read on these forums over the last few months I believe its the transmission making the noise, not the belt. The gears are straight cut for durability unlike other quads that have rounded, smooth gears. Take off the belt housing and listen to the belt, it hardly makes a noise. Don't worry about it, after a while the straight cut gears will round themselves smooth and the sound will lessen.
