Last time I rode at the dunes I had Geckos on my V, and got destroyed in the drags. Now I can race my buddys raptor in the dirt and even if I get a bad start, I can beat him by a bike length in a 100 yard drag. I upgraded to 22x11x10 Skat-Trak Extreme 10 paddles now, so should I do alot better in the drags now? I noticed when I raced before, all it did at the start was dig, but when I got going I was keeping up with them. I am hoping these expensive *** tires will help, cause we are going to the dunes this weekend and im gonna race my buddy with a shee.

Sorry to disappoint you, but I bought the 10 paddle Extremes and only rode with them for an hour before switching back to the stock Holeshots. The Extremes are quite narrow compared to the stock tires, and with the weight of the 700, it needs all the flotation it can get. I was much happier with the Geckos. The Extremes had very poor handling characteristics on the the 700. Could not steer on the dunes to save my life. If you are into the drag racing only, the Extremes may do OK, but for recreational riding, the Edge will do much better for you. Scat Trak is now recommending the 7 paddle Edge. They are having to take away traction to make it handle properly.
By the way, I was getting destroyed in the drags also (w/ stock tires in sand conditions). Z400s and 400exs were leaving me behind, although they were piped and had other mods.

Are you running center ribbed sand tires in front yet? If so I was wondering if you noticed much improvement in handling. Now that I switched to Extremes from the Edges I too experience the infamous V-force push in the sand. Awesome in drags and hill climbs but not too desireable handling with the stock knobbies up front. Thanks.

Well im back with good news, that thing flat out hauls with those tires on it. Before it couldnt even wheelie, now it wheelies up hill with ease. I race my buddys stock shee and killed him. But, it wouldnt turn for crap, it had a BAD "front end push". Although im happy with them.
