I own a mojave and I wanted to know if it was possible to make the mojave as fast as the 400 EX but without putting a big bore kit.
List the mods if possible.

No. Serious motor work including a huge cc bump would be needed.

maybe try getting a good aftermarket pipe(super trapp ids2,cobra jet,white bros) re-jetting your carb, sproket 13-tooth,18 inch tires(if you want to beat him of the start)getting an after market black box so your engine will rev higher.Lighter handle bars(aluminum) it will shed 2 pounds,that might help with speed.Higher octane gas might help to.(the stock top speed of a 400ex is only 64mph)

I have White bros cams, Cobra JET pipe, 36mm carb, 13,41 sprokets, 20inch rear tires, ported, polished, wiseco ceramic coated piston, KLR250 black box, UNI pod filter, and a lot of other stuff. In a drag race with a piped 400ex I am 3-5 bike lengths behind.

Can you tell me more about the black box you put on your Mojave. Also did the sprocket change make much difference.
Thanks for any info you can give me

The 13-tooth gear change was a dramatic difference in my bike. The power was much smoother, not all in the first couple 1000 of rpm's. Also it got rid of the sputter I had at full throttle.

To the other person who was asking about beating a 400ex. In my opinion you're asking a lot. The Honda has 150cc on ya. Regardless, you'll end up putting a great deal of cash into your Mojave, which is inevitable.

The 13 tooth sproket gave it a lot better gear spacing and top-end. What do you want to know about the black box?
