Who has replaced driven sheave, movable plate bushings? Prairie 650

I have spoken with a dealer already, and they have no problem putting it through under the warranty, whether kawasaki accepts it as such is yet to be seen. It would appear that this was a poor design on kawi's part, why else did they change it on the 03 as stated. As someone in this thread already mentioned, alot of the belt issues may be traced to this bushing wearing prematurely. If they won't cover it under the ext. warranty, it will be the last ext. warranty i purchase on any kawi product.

I have replace those bushing last year, and after 2000 kil they are like new , if you want something better than the original one , you take brass with oil inside, that is what we call here "oil lite" the dimension are 40 mm x44 mm x 20 mm and you are better to change the grease seal at the same time. Or you can buy the original from a bearing company at about 28. $ (US) for the four part----2 bushing and 2 grease seal----

For the brass "oil lite " you have to machine, but for the mild steel cover with a kinf of fiber ,you can have them at your local bearing store (if they don't have them they will order them for you)

I spoke with my dealer today, he notified me that my new sheave arrived, we ordered a 2002 replacement, he said that kawi sent the new 2003 model. He also said that it should be no problem having it covered under ext. warranty. I find out for sure next week when i go to pick it up.

Rutwad, just to let you know, the sheave was replaced under ext. warranty. I would consider checking with another dealer if your swon't do the same, this wear is not normal wear. The sheave i picked up is an improvement over the worn one, that tells me they had a problem, dealer also agreed and acknowledged this. good luck
