Default V-Force leaking gass..

Hey everybody..
Yesterday I was riding my V around and noticed it was leaking gas from what I would guess to be an overflow tube coming from the carbs. Someone told me it might be from having a dirty air filter. I popped off the air lid and yep, it was dirty. How could having a dirty filter do this? Or maybe the filter has nothing to do with it. Any suggestions?

check for a broken choke spring. it could be the old prairie problem come back to haunt you. the chikes are needle and seat type, if the spring breaks it will cause the fuel to over flow out of the carb and could even fill the crank case

Thanks yettiactpg...

As soon as I have time, i'll take the carbs apart and check it out. I really hope it's not a broken spring

and just something simple to fix. Take care..
