air filter box question

Default air filter box question

hey guys just pulled my air filter and was suprised to see oil in the box is this normal I hope not a gearhead at all just wondering? thanks guys.

maybe I should be more specific I was just starting to check things out since im waiting on tires and cant ride so I removed the air filtre and under it was a puddle bout 4 inches in diametermaybe 1/4 inch deep of what I believe to be oil I just wanted to check and see if this is normal.

if you're talking about the v/force it is because the vent line is in the airbox....meaning if you putt too much oil in it and ride a big wheelie or run it at high RPMs it will be present in ur airbox..this will also cause ur v/force to smoke like you blew it up too.

actually this is in a p 650 havent pulled any wheelies or anything rode about 2 miles ran great no smoke or anything was realllly happy with the ride but just curious about the air filter box thanks for responding though.

what orange rocket said also aplies to the p650, the vent is also in the airbox

You shouldn't have any motor oil in your air box. Change your engine oil & be extra carefull NOT to overfill the crankcase. With a oil filter replacement & fresh oil, you should only be putting in 1.85 US qts. of oil.

ok thanks everybody appreciate the input. I plan on changing all the fluids this week hey what type of oil should be run.

i run 10w30, the next oil change i will be switching to synthetic
