Default I'm lookin for a P650

I am selling my 2K Kodiak and getting a used P650. Looking on Ebay. Any way the Kodiak is a nice machine for what it is but I want the locking front Diff the P650 has.
Talk to me guys. What will I need to do for preventive maintenance. I am a Maintenance Tech \ Machinist for an Anheuser-Busch Brewery and know there must be some things I can benefit from on your experiences. So far I hear to never park it leaving the gas on and clean and water proof the engine braking system.

Thanks, therock

I have made a mistake. I am looking at an 03 for 5825.00. When do the 700s' come out? What is different besides the 50 cc's? Are the 03's improved over eariler models?

Some dealers already have them. There is some cosmetic changes, and the extra displacement.....other than that they are the same. Price is MUCH HIGHER for them right now. Cheapest i found was 6999, most others were 7299. I didn't think it was worth the difference.

On the 04' 700 you get a better belt and clutch set-up to go along with the motor, that's a good price for an 03', you will like it, I've put 3000 miles on an 02..... just keep the air filter clean and oiled, change the oil about every 500 miles, keep the belt tight, and check the valve's every once in a while and you should'nt have any problem's........

Danny, When checking the valves, have you ever found them in need of adjustment?

Yes, at 750 miles I had them checked, and the intakes on the rear cylinder were a little tight, checked them again at 1500 miles they were right on, checked again at 2500 and they still were OK now have 2900 miles on it...... So i think the first adjuctment is the most important, check at about 700-1000 miles them maybe every 1500-2000 miles after that to be safe....... But they haven't moved since the first adjustment..........

Thanks, Glad to hear that.
That is usually the case and is why I asked. With no lead in the gas and much better materials, and automated (CNC) machine tools holding tolerances much closer than the human machinist, this is what we have.
I going for an 03 P650.
The engine braking system? Is there somthing I need to do to keep water out or make it more reliable? I have read of a need to pay attention to it.
