Default Starter for daughters wheeler

I need a new starter for an '87 Bayou 300. I was told this was a dealer only item. Is this true ? If it's available elsewhere, can someone tell me the best place to look. Thanks.

Find an ATV junkyard maybe or try and see if its rebuildable. Milwaukee Cycle Service((570) 586-0345) in Pa has tons of used parts. I"m not too sure of their web site, but you can give a call and ask them. I'm 75% sure they ship.

If you're not having any luck with ATV junkyards, you could look into ronayers.com. You may find their price much less than that of your local dealer. I believe the part number you need is 21163-1249 (21163-1115 from Kawasaki) and is priced at $220.16. It may not be "cheap," but may help. It seems that your best bet would be to follow GTCHIEF's advice and look into having it rebuilt.

Good luck....
