Default Boring out the LAKOTA

Thanks Jeepgrl for the info!

Mole, I take it that's all you did to it, what you mentioned? No carb upgrade or cam?

Default Boring out the LAKOTA

I've heard the 300EX carb. is a great carb to use since it has an accelerator pump on it. However, I'm not sure how it will connect to the choke cable and so forth. I think it's a carb. mounted choke, so that would render the handy choke lever on the bars useless.

Gaff used the 330 kit from FST and had great results with it. He also ported and polished the head himself. He was holeshoting 400EX's and stuff with all he had done.

Also, he told me by upgrading the clutch that made a world of difference. I have not yet done that, but aside from a clamp on that will be my next mod.

Default Boring out the LAKOTA

sorry it took me so much time to reply I've been really busy with work and college. I did do all the work myself other than the actual bore and the shaveing. but yeah all I did was bore it out and shaved the head i. You see about a month ago i was riding with a friend and we fried the rings on it and had a 2 mile hike back to the house. so i was kind of in a hurry to get it running so i could go riding agian and all my friends told me I should bore it out so i went to the the ATV shop and asked them what I could get for it and they gave me a Wiesco piston kit .50 over stock. I asked about a cam and a carb they told me a cam would cost a little under $300 so i said never mind they also said that there wasn't anything you could do to the carb so they where absolutly no help what so ever which is how i stumbled across this site. but any way a week later i had it back together and was riding around I also got a 41 tooth sprocket on the back and i ordered a 13 tooth sprocket for the front which should get here in a few days. the engine is twice as powerful even with the new sprocket it pulls the front up off the ground about 3 inches on full throttle. I'm really pleased with what i did so I'll probly get the mojave carb that everyone is telling me about, a new muffler system and get a K&N power kit too. but that wont come for another month or so. Untill then i'll just stick with this. Also I was thinking about trading the lakota for somthing with a clutch on it and i want somthing that I could hook up and have a lot of fun on so any thoughts about what i should consider would be very appreciated if there is anything i can help you with on this subject feel free to ask i'll try to get back to you asap alright later
