Your belts will have to be able to get to the bottom of the primary, and maintian a slight belt side clearance to the sheave..or it would be engaged all the time. Kawis have a huge side clearance compared to others, giving them a harsh engegement if spring preloads are too high.

Dirty white boy,we are getting pretty close, shoot me an e-mail.

I'm going to order 5 new belts in for testing...

one will be a duplicate to the original ( close enough to the 360, 650, 700 size in length & width, but costing $45 - $50)...

three are going to be 1/4" wider than the stock belt, one is the stock length, one the same as SHOTGUN ordered, marginally longer than stock, & one that is over 1" longer...

one is 5/16" wider than stock, & marginally longer...

All of the belts are either industrial CVT belts, or manufactured by a company that produces a lot of snowmobile belts... so durability should be the same or better than the stock belt... & the cost at this point has been $45 - $50 each... WAM

Newbeatle;

Good job, we'll all owe you a royality if you find the magic belt.

I should have waited for your test, but I should be able to tell from one belt, which way to go.

Does you wife know you just spent her shopping money for this weekend. lol

Thanks for the replies and concern for my surgery. I came home yesterday and all went well. The Dr. put 6 screws and an L-shaped brace on my heal bone. No need for the benefit ride Mike LOL I have pretty good insurance. DWB, I dont think you did tell me about your ordeal? What happend? Shotgun, the way the Vikings are playing Im not so sure football season will make me feel any better. So much for that. Now, how is the belt ideas coming?

KOD,

WAM has a few test belts in the works. We will be getting together 9/13 to do some more trial runs. However, Shotgun already ordered one to test himself. He should be the first to report how that particular size works out.

I recall a conversation with you over at HL. I told the story of how I broke my thumb into 3 pieces (on our Deadhorse ATV run) and had surgery to put it back together. It works, but it will never be the same. That break ruined a vacation, my entire fall and part of my winter activities.

The movie quotes were from Better off dead.... The japanese Howard Cosell impersonator and the guy that played Booger on Revenge of the Nerds. Maybe that movie is too old for you guys. My friends are movie quote fanatics and it rubs off on me sometimes.

Bad memory I guess. I dont remember that conversation. I sure am glad I didnt break me heal on an ATV, I would never hear the end of it from anyone. How does it effect you now?

We discussed the likelyhood of having arthritis in it for the rest of my life. So far, that has held true. The more I use it the more the joint has a dull ache. It seems to articulate fine. But, I get a tendon snap on the side of my wrist sometimes and it stings when it does that. Plus, the joint still feels somewhat tight. I notice that the most when I do pushups.

I usually ignore it and go about life as is. I notice it when I take the time to stop and think though.

I might talk to my orthopedic surgeon the next time I see him at work. He'll probably tell me to make an appointment though. Those guys are crazy busy. I don't know who keeps them busier: the reckless kids or the old folks falling down.

Take it easy and let that foot heal up right.

Thanks, the arthritis was the only negative prognosis that the Dr. gave me.

If you only have arthritis in your thumb or heel count yourself very lucky. I got it almost everywhere, had it for the last 10 years or so, since age 15. Some days my bones ache, others no problem. Sometimes my leg hurts so much I can't even stand on it, thats rare though. Working out hurts alot in the joints in the shoulders and elbows, so I do very little weight lifting and stuff. I may trying an exercise machine or something.

I wonder how things are going to be in 20 years with my arthritis? I hope a cure or treatment is available in the next 5 to 10 years.
