I just put mine in. Everything went fine except the IMS supplied bolts that attach the fuel pump assembly to the tank keep backing out. I can't seem to keep them tight for any length of time. IMS says lock tite is a big NO NO. Any ideas?

I just got my new IMS tank and I am waiting for my Nerf bars to ge there before I install them. I read your post and I was wondereing if you resolve your problem with the screws backing out?

Did you have any other problems?

Does it change the amount of fuel you have when the low fuel lite comes on?

Has any else installed an IMS tank on there KFX700?

Thanks

Alan

I installed mine about two months ago and haven't had any problems with it so far, idd you get the 4.0 or the 4.6?

I never could really get the screws to bottom out. They do seem to back out just a bit. Not enough to worry about. As near as I can tell The fuel light comes on at about the same time. The pump unit only will protrude into the tank so far. I look at it more as a bigger "reserve" after the light comes on.

Hope this helps,

Enigma

enigma-- How about a dab of super glue on the head of each screw? Don't go crazy with it, just a couple drops of the thick/semi-gel super glue should do it. It'll break free, if you need the remove the screws.
