26" Mud Lite Inner Tube
#1
Hi Guys
my brand new RF Mud Lite has a small pin hole on the side wall. Can I use an inner tube on one front wheel only? will I feel it ? will it affect anything?

Don't put an innertube in your tire, eccept as a last resort...If the tires are new, they should warrenty them... If its something you did...slime them ( there are several brands of tire sealants, liquid that goes into the tire through the valve stem & repairs the tire from the inside )... the reason I said not to use the innertube, is that 9 out of 10 times you'll get a puncture, it will be on the tread area, or at least be pluggable with the tire plug repair kits... these make it easy to repair tires on the trail... they make little CO2 inflation kits that with the plug kit can plug & fill a tire in no time, on the trail, they are fairly cheap, & take up very little space ( would easily fit in the storage box will much room to spare )... the slime can be used as a proactive measure as well... by putting the sealant in before you get a flat, you may never get one again... some people might notice the sealant in the tires ( out of balance feeling ), but most people never notice it... I use innertubes for my spare tires ( tires with too much damage to patch from the inside, etc... they work just fine, but you are unable to repair them as stated above...WAM

Yes I agree, stay away from the innertube if you can. I would just plug it ,I have done so on many occasion and as long as the hole is not too big it works great. The tire sealents work great on holes in or around the tread but I have not had any luck on the side wall with them, I always had to plug them..

I put an innertube in one of my back rims with no problems yet. I had a hole in the sidewall that i could stick my pinky finger in so it was a last resort type situation because a plug wouldnt hold and i sure as hell wasnt going to buy a new tire since I only had these for about a month. Just make sure if you do put a tube in it to get one with the motorcycle style valve with the lock nut and to put a patch on the inside of the tire to keep the tire from biting the tube.
