definatly 589s. You might gain speed if the tire is bigger than the one you have on right now.

Overall, with bigger tires you will gain top end but lose low end. and those tires are very, very heavy so you will feel less power also.

I disagree on the speed gain. While it sounds right as far as the gearing in concerned, the atvs just dont produce enough power to turn the larger and heavier tires. I have checked many atvs with my GPS that has larger tires and they are slowed down.

I even lost approx 2mph when I had my 27" 589s on my P650 compared with stock tires. You will loose power and speed across the board.

As far as choosing between the 589 and mudzillas I would go with the lighter tire.

IMO the 27" Vampire with outperform both and ride better than the 589s. If you dont want to loose much speed and power go with the 27" Mudbugs. They are the lightest 27" tire out there. They also ride better than the Vampire and much better than the 589s. They dont compare with the VAmps in the mud though. Its just a matter of how you are going to ride. Lots of mud = Vamps, mostly trials with some mud thrown in = Mudbugs.

Also, I can give an honest and unbiased opinion because I have owned all 3 sets, Mudbugs, 589s and Vamps.

muddzillas actually are quite smooth on the trail once you are over 15mph, but are heavy on the arms with the steering. If your going to mostly trail with a little mud steer away from them. If your use the trails to get to the bottom-less mud pit the pulling power of the tires is worth the stiff ride.

I bought 589's and my brother bought MudLites. We have identical twins and the identical size tires and if I had to do it over again, I would buy the MudLites. And putting the 589's on slowed me down a good bit. The Mudlites didn't slow my brother's down that much.
